SEO Cost in Egypt: Monthly Prices Explained
Most real monthly SEO work in Egypt sits somewhere between 7,000 and 45,000 EGP. Below that you're usually buying reports and links, not results.
Ask five SEO providers in Cairo for a quote and you'll get five numbers that don't seem to come from the same planet. One says 3,000 EGP a month. Another says 40,000. Both call it "full SEO".
They can both be telling the truth about their own work. In late 2026, cheap SEO packages in Egypt start around 2,000 to 7,000 EGP a month. Real agency retainers for a small or mid-size business usually land between 10,000 and 25,000 EGP. Competitive sites, big stores and bilingual sites with lots of content go to 40,000 EGP a month and beyond. The gap between those numbers is mostly about what's actually being done, and how much of it is content. If you want to see what a monthly plan looks like in practice, our SEO service page lays out the work.
Here's what this covers:

The typical price ranges in EGP
These are market ranges we see from published Egyptian price lists and the quotes clients bring us. They're not fixed prices, and they move with the dollar rate because most SEO tools are billed in dollars.
- Budget packages from freelancers and small shops: around 2,000 to 7,000 EGP a month. Often a handful of keywords, a few short articles and a large backlink number on the offer.
- Small agency or experienced freelancer: around 7,000 to 15,000 EGP a month. Usually covers basic technical fixes, a few optimized pages and two to four pieces of content.
- Established agency retainer: around 15,000 to 25,000 EGP a month. Proper keyword mapping, technical audit with follow-up, regular content, reporting tied to traffic and leads.
- Competitive or large sites: 40,000 EGP a month and up. Many pages, two languages, several branches or governorates, heavier content output.
If a quote is far below these numbers, ask what's missing. If it's far above, ask what you're getting that the middle tier doesn't give you. A serious provider will answer either question without getting defensive.
What you actually pay for each month
SEO isn't one task. A decent monthly plan has three parts, and the price depends on how much of each you get.
The first is technical work: making sure Google can crawl and index the site, fixing broken pages, speed, mobile layout, duplicate pages, sitemaps. On a healthy site this is light after the first month. On a messy WordPress site with 400 plugins, it's not.
The second is content and on-page work: researching what your customers type, mapping keywords to pages, writing or rewriting service pages and articles, fixing titles and descriptions. This is where most of the money goes, because good content takes a writer who understands your business. A clinic in Maadi needs pages a patient trusts, not 600 words of filler with "best dentist" repeated twelve times.
The third is authority and reporting: earning mentions and links from real sites, keeping your Google Business Profile in shape if you have a physical location, and a monthly report that tells you what changed and what's next.
When you compare quotes, ask each provider to split their price across these three. Most cheap offers are heavy on the third (as in, "1,000 backlinks") and light on everything else.
What moves the price up or down
A few things push the number around more than anything else.
- Competition. Ranking a dental clinic in Tanta is not the same job as ranking a real-estate developer for "apartments in New Cairo".
- Number of pages and services. A 10-page company site and a 3,000-product store are different projects.
- Languages. Arabic and English means two keyword sets and two versions of content. We cover that choice in Arabic vs English SEO.
- Content volume. Two articles a month or eight changes the bill more than any other line.
- Who writes and who implements. If the agency has to get every change through your web developer, expect slower work or a higher fee.
- The state of your site. A broken site needs fixing first. Sometimes a rebuild is cheaper than patching, and it's worth getting a quote for both before you commit.
Cheap SEO packages and why they worry us
The 3,000 EGP package isn't always a scam. Sometimes it's a freelancer starting out who'll work hard. But the typical cheap offer in Egypt follows a pattern: a promise of first-page rankings, a fixed small number of keywords, and a big round number of backlinks.
That backlink number is the warning sign. Five hundred or a thousand links a month for a few thousand pounds means automated links from junk sites. Google has spent years learning to ignore that kind of link, and in bad cases it can trigger a manual action against your site. You'd be paying to be invisible.
The other warning sign is a guarantee. Nobody can guarantee a position on Google, and Google itself says so in its guidance on hiring an SEO. Someone promising "first page in 30 days" is either talking about keywords nobody searches, or not being straight with you. One-off projects or monthly retainers
Not everyone needs a monthly retainer from day one. A common, sensible setup looks like this.
A one-off setup project fixes the technical side, builds the keyword map, rewrites the main service pages and sets up Search Console and analytics properly. It's usually priced as a project, often in the range of one to two months of a retainer, depending on the site. After that, a smaller monthly plan keeps content going and handles reporting.
A full retainer from the start makes sense when you're in a crowded market, launching a new site, or have a lot of content to produce. It also makes sense when you don't have anyone in-house who can act on recommendations.
What doesn't work is paying once, stopping, and expecting rankings to hold forever. Your competitors keep publishing and Google keeps updating, so a site that stands still slowly slides.
How to budget for your first six months
Say you run a home-textile brand selling online across Egypt, with an Arabic and English site. A realistic first six months might look like this: month one is mostly fixing and planning, months two to four are content and page improvements, and months five and six are when you'd expect to start seeing steady movement in impressions and the first serious traffic gains.
So budget for six months as one decision, not as a monthly gamble you might cancel after week five. If 15,000 EGP a month feels heavy, it's better to pick a smaller scope (fewer pages, fewer articles) for the full six months than a big scope you'll stop after two. Our article on how long SEO takes explains why the first months look quiet even when the work is right.
And compare SEO to what you'd pay for the same traffic in ads. If you're already spending on Google Ads, check your cost per click on your main keywords. That number, times the clicks good rankings would bring, tells you what SEO is worth to you. For a wider view of agency pricing across services, see what a marketing agency costs in Egypt.
Before you ask for quotes
Write down three things: the services or products that make you the most money, the areas you serve, and whether your customers search in Arabic, English or both. Then ask every provider for a split of their price between technical work, content and authority, plus a sample report.

How much does SEO cost per month in Egypt?
Cheap packages start around 2,000 to 7,000 EGP a month. Proper agency retainers for a small or mid-size business usually run from about 10,000 to 25,000 EGP, and larger sites go well above that.
Is a one-time SEO payment enough?
A one-off fix can solve technical problems, but rankings need ongoing content and updates. Most businesses do a setup project first, then a smaller monthly plan.
Why are some SEO offers in Egypt so cheap?
Usually because they sell volume: hundreds of low-quality backlinks and thin articles. That can do nothing at all, or it can hurt your site.
Does SEO cost more for an Arabic and English site?
Yes. Two languages means two sets of keywords and content, so expect the content part of the budget to grow, though not always to double.
How long should I pay before judging SEO?
Give it at least four to six months of consistent work before you judge it, and track leads and calls, not just rankings.
