Social Media Marketing Cost in Egypt (2026): What You Actually Pay For

Social Media  /  6 min read

Most Egyptian businesses pay somewhere between 3,000 and 25,000 EGP a month for social media management, before ad spend. Where you land depends on how much content you need and who makes it.

The usual mistake with social media quotes is comparing the totals. Two offers at 8,000 EGP can be completely different services. One might be twelve template designs and nothing else. Another might include a content plan, Reels, captions in Arabic and English, and daily replies.

For the record, in 2026 most businesses in Egypt pay between 3,000 and 25,000 EGP a month for social media management, and that's before a single pound goes to Meta or TikTok as ad spend. Some pay less, some pay much more. What decides the number is how much content is being made, how much of it is video, and how many hours someone spends replying to your customers. Below is what the money buys and how to compare quotes properly. If you want to see what a full monthly scope looks like in practice, our social media management service page lists what's included.

Here's what this covers:

Typical price ranges in Egypt right now

These are typical market ranges for late 2026, based on what Egyptian agencies and freelancers publish and what we see in the market. They're monthly, and they exclude ad spend.

  • Freelancer, basic setup: roughly 2,000 to 5,000 EGP. Usually one platform or Facebook plus Instagram, eight to twelve designed posts, simple captions, and light posting. Replies and video are often not included.
  • Small agency, starter package: roughly 3,000 to 10,000 EGP. A content plan, twelve to twenty posts, some Stories, basic replies and a monthly report.
  • Agency, professional package: roughly 10,000 to 15,000 EGP. More content, a few Reels, proper community management and campaign management for ads.
  • Full-service team: 15,000 to 25,000 EGP and up. Strategy, regular video, several platforms, bilingual content, ads, and someone who actually thinks about your sales numbers.

You'll also see AI-heavy subscription offers at 1,000 to 3,000 EGP a month. They post a lot, but the content is generated, not crafted. For some tiny businesses that's fine. For a brand that wants to look like itself, it isn't.

What a monthly package should include

Whatever the price, a real social media management package in Egypt should cover these, and the quote should state the numbers clearly:

  • A monthly content plan you approve before anything goes live
  • A fixed number of feed posts, Stories and Reels per platform
  • Captions written for your audience, in Arabic, English or both
  • Design that follows your brand identity, not a random template pack
  • Community management: replies to comments and messages, with agreed hours
  • Posting and scheduling
  • A monthly report with reach, engagement, followers, messages and, ideally, leads or sales
  • A short review call to decide what to change next month

If you want to see how a good plan is built, our guide to building a monthly social media content plan walks through the structure.

What pushes the price up

Video is the biggest single factor. A designed post can be made in an hour. A good Reel needs an idea, a script, a shoot, editing, captions and sound. If your package includes four to eight Reels a month with real filming, expect it to sit in the upper ranges. A shoot day with a crew is often priced separately.

Other things that move the number:

  • The number of platforms. Instagram and Facebook can share a lot of content. TikTok and LinkedIn need their own.
  • Community management hours. A restaurant in Zayed getting 200 messages a day needs far more time than a B2B company getting ten.
  • Bilingual content. Writing properly in Egyptian Arabic and English is two jobs, not one.
  • Seniority. A team with a strategist and an art director costs more than a junior designer working alone.
  • Seasons. Ramadan, Eid and White Friday campaigns usually need extra content and are sometimes quoted as add-ons.

Ad spend is a separate budget

This is where many business owners get surprised. The management fee pays the people. The ad budget pays Meta, TikTok or Google. They're two different lines.

Some agencies quote a package that "includes ads" and mean they'll manage a campaign, not that they'll pay for it. Others include a small ad amount and say so. Ask directly: how much of this number goes to the platform?

Ad costs in Egypt also tend to move with the dollar rate, so a budget that worked last year may buy less reach this year. If you want a sense of ad budgets on their own, our guide to Instagram ads cost in Egypt covers that side.

Freelancer, small agency or full-service team

A good freelancer is great value for a small shop, a single clinic or a new brand with simple needs. The risk is dependency: if they get sick, travel or take a bigger client, your page goes quiet. Freelancers also tend to be strong at one thing, design or writing, and average at the rest.

A small agency gives you a team: a designer, a writer and an account manager. You get continuity and more consistent quality. The trade-off is that you may be one of many clients, so ask who exactly works on your account.

A full-service team makes sense when content and sales are tightly linked: e-commerce, real estate, restaurants with delivery, clinics with bookings. Here you want people who plan content, make video, manage ads and read the numbers together. At HOK we come from TV production, so video sits at the center of how we plan, and that's usually the part that moves results.

We wrote a separate guide on how to choose a social media agency in Egypt if you're at the shortlisting stage.

Red flags in cheap offers

Cheap isn't always bad, but some patterns should make you careful:

  • No content plan before posting. You find out what was posted after it's live.
  • Promises of a fixed number of followers. Followers can be bought. Customers can't.
  • No mention of who replies to messages, or when.
  • Design that looks the same as their other clients' pages, just with a different logo.
  • Reports that only show likes and followers, never messages, leads or sales.
  • A contract that locks you in for a year with no exit after a trial period.

How to compare two quotes

Put the offers side by side and turn each into numbers. How many feed posts, Stories and Reels per month? Are the Reels filmed or made from stock footage? How many hours of replies, and in which time window? Is ads management included, and is ad spend included? Who owns the designs, the raw footage and the account access?

Then ask each provider to show you one real month of content they made for a similar business, and a sample report. Ten minutes of looking at real work will tell you more than any price sheet.

One more check: divide the monthly fee by the number of finished pieces. If one offer gives you twenty static posts for 8,000 EGP and another gives you twelve posts plus four filmed Reels for 14,000 EGP, the second one may be the better deal if video is what sells your product.

Write your own brief first

Before you ask anyone for a price, write down what you actually need: which platforms, how many posts and Reels, who answers messages, and whether you want ads managed. Then ask two or three providers to quote against that same list, so you compare like with like.

How much does social media management cost in Egypt per month?

Typical market ranges in 2026 run from about 2,000 to 5,000 EGP for a basic freelancer setup to 10,000 to 25,000 EGP or more for an agency with video and ads management. Ad spend is usually extra.

Is ad spend included in social media packages?

Usually not. Most packages cover content and management, and the money paid to Meta or TikTok is billed separately, so always ask.

Why are some packages so cheap?

Very cheap packages usually rely on templates, AI-generated images, no video and little or no community management. They can work for a tiny start but rarely build a brand.

Should I hire a freelancer or an agency?

A good freelancer suits a small business with simple needs. An agency makes more sense when you need video, design, copy, replies and ads handled together without depending on one person.

What drives the price of social media management up?

Video and Reels production, the number of platforms, the number of posts, community management hours, bilingual content and paid ads management.
