Google Ads Price in Egypt: What It Costs and When It's Worth It
Google Ads has no minimum spend, and you only pay when someone clicks. The catch is that in competitive fields one click can cost tens of pounds, so it only pays off when people are actively searching for what you sell.
Someone in Nasr City types "dentist near me" at 11 p.m. with a toothache. Someone in Zayed searches "AC maintenance company" in the first week of July. That's Google Ads at its best: you show up at the exact moment a person wants what you sell, and you pay only if they click.
So what does it cost? Google has no minimum spend. You set a daily budget, and you're charged per click on Search ads. In Egypt, clicks on niche local searches can be very cheap, sometimes a few pounds, while competitive categories like real estate, cosmetic procedures, courses and B2B software can run into tens of pounds per click. For a Search campaign that tells you something, most local businesses spend somewhere around 8,000 to 20,000 EGP a month, plus VAT. How Google Ads pricing works
Google runs an auction every time someone searches. Advertisers who bid on that keyword compete for the ad spots, and Google ranks them on a mix of the bid and the quality of the ad: how relevant it is to the search, how likely people are to click, and how good the landing page is.
The practical upshot: you don't always pay your maximum bid, and a well-written ad with a good landing page can beat a competitor who's bidding more.
Google offers several campaign types. The ones most Egyptian businesses use:
- Search: text ads on Google results. Pay per click. The core of most accounts.
- Performance Max: one campaign that runs across Search, YouTube, Display, Gmail and Maps, with Google's automation deciding where. Useful for e-commerce with a product feed, risky without good tracking.
- YouTube (video) ads: usually charged per view or per thousand impressions.
- Display and Demand Gen: image and video ads across Google's network and feeds. Cheaper reach, weaker intent.
You set an average daily budget. On any single day Google can spend up to twice that, but over a month it won't charge you more than roughly 30.4 times the daily amount.
What clicks cost in Egypt
There isn't a reliable public average for Google Ads clicks in Egypt, and any article that gives you one exact number is guessing. Prices are set keyword by keyword, and the range is huge.
A rough way to think about it:
- Low competition: local, specific searches in Arabic like a type of repair in a particular area. Often a few pounds per click.
- Medium: common services and products in Cairo and Alexandria, like clinics, gyms, furniture or courses. Often in the range of several pounds to the low tens per click.
- High: real estate, hair transplant, dental implants, international schools, software, finance. Can easily run to tens of pounds per click, especially in English.
The best way to get a real number for your business is Google's own Keyword Planner, inside Google Ads. Type in the searches your customers would use, set the location to Egypt or your city, and it shows estimated bid ranges. Treat those as a starting point. Your actual cost will depend on your ads and your competitors that week.
One thing specific to Egypt: people search in Arabic, English and Franco-Arabic, and the competition differs across all three. English searches for medical or real-estate terms are often more expensive because more advertisers chase them.
Realistic monthly budgets
Here's a simple way to estimate. Say your average click costs 10 EGP and about 1 in 20 visitors contacts you. That's 200 EGP per lead. If you want 50 leads a month, you need about 10,000 EGP in clicks. If your clicks cost 25 EGP, the same 50 leads cost 25,000 EGP.
That's why the budget question always comes back to your numbers: what a customer is worth to you, how many leads turn into sales, and how good your website is at converting visitors.
As typical ranges for late 2026, before VAT:
- Small local service (one branch, a few core keywords): around 8,000 to 15,000 EGP a month.
- Clinics, schools, multi-branch businesses: often 15,000 to 50,000 EGP a month.
- Real estate and e-commerce at scale: commonly well above that.
Below a few thousand pounds a month, Search campaigns in competitive fields usually get too few clicks to learn from.
VAT, billing and the dollar
Google charges 14% VAT to accounts with an Egyptian business address, which it has done since July 2024, unless the business adds a valid tax registration number and unique identification number in the billing settings. So budget for the tax on top.
You pick your account's currency when you create it, and Google doesn't let you change it later, so choose deliberately. Payment is usually by card, and Egyptian businesses paying in foreign currency have run into bank spending limits in the past, so check your card's limits before a big month.
Even with an account in pounds, the dollar matters. Keyword prices come from an auction that includes advertisers bidding in other currencies, and as the pound weakened against the dollar during 2026, the price of the same click in EGP tended to rise.
When Google Ads is worth it, and when it isn't
Google Ads works when people already know they need something and go looking for it. Good fits in Egypt:
- Clinics and medical services people search for by name or area.
- Home services: maintenance, pest control, moving, cleaning.
- Schools, training centers and courses.
- B2B services where buyers research before they call.
- E-commerce stores with clear products people search for, especially with Shopping ads.
It's a weaker fit when nobody searches for your product yet. A new fashion label or a creative snack brand won't find many people typing its category into Google. Those brands usually grow faster on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, where ads create interest instead of catching it. Our guides to Instagram ads cost in Egypt and TikTok ads cost in Egypt cover those.
It's also worth thinking about Google ads next to free visibility. A properly set-up Google Business Profile and some local SEO can bring in searches for "near me" terms without paying per click. Ads fill the gap while that builds.
Mistakes that waste Google budgets
Most wasted Google spend we see comes from the same short list:
- Broad keywords with no negatives. Bidding on "dentist" without excluding "dentist jobs" or "dentistry faculty" pays for clicks from students and job seekers.
- Sending ads to the homepage. A landing page that matches the search converts far better.
- No conversion tracking. If Google doesn't know what a lead or sale is, it can't optimize for one, and you can't judge the results.
- Running Performance Max with no tracking and no product feed, then wondering where the money went.
- Ignoring the search terms report. It shows what people typed. Check it every week in the first month.
- Targeting all of Egypt when you only serve New Cairo.
Where to start
If you think Google fits your business, start small and specific. Pick your three to five most valuable services, write keywords for how customers search for them in Arabic and English, add negatives, and send each to a page that answers the search. Set up conversion tracking before you spend a pound. Run it for a month, then look at cost per lead and the search terms report before you raise the budget.
